We held our first paper piecing class at Three Crafty Quilters with instructor Cheri Rosen and it was terrific!
The class was a beginner class - students that had never paper pieced before. Everyone was traditional machine piecers or hand quilters so there was a lot of learning. Fortunately, Cheri, who is a NYC transplant with nine years of teaching quilting under her belt, came prepared! If Cheri can teach math to middle school students (her profession by day) then she can teach us to paper piece!
All of the students came prepared with a selection of fabric to make Cheri's leaf pattern, and a desire to get those points perfect!
Everyone seemed to enjoy the class, learning a new technique and relaxing (we were relaxed until the husbands and kids started texting messages asking when we were coming home).
Fabulous results (for those of you that weren't afraid to get in front of the camera at 9:00 pm!) Next up, we are ready for the intermediate class - stars! If you want to join in the fun check the website or the shop for details. Sheri will also be teaching the Blooming 9 Patch soon.
